What is PayPal Credit?

PayPal Credit acts like an online credit card, and gives you a credit limit that can be used for this and future purchases.

PayPal Credit gives customers access to a range of installment and purchase offers.

All qualifying purchases from can use installment offers, giving you access to a lower rate for the installment period. Any outstanding balance after this period is subject to PayPal Credit’s standard rate of interest, currently 17.9% p.a. (variable).

If approved, PayPal Credit is accessible from your PayPal account allowing you to manage your payments, view your balance and check your monthly statements online.

There’s no lengthy application to fill out, just answer some quick questions, review and accept the terms and get a decision in seconds.

How do I use PayPal Credit?

It couldn’t be easier!

You can apply for PayPal Credit directly from the checkout or from cart page. Just select the PayPal Credit option on the payment checkout page or from shopping cart.

This will guide you to PayPal Credit’s application page where you can start the process of applying for PayPal Credit.

The application should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and you will then be redirected back to our website to complete your transaction.

Before you apply, please make sure you:

  • Are a UK resident aged 18 years or older
  • Have a good credit history
  • Have not recently been declared bankrupt
  • Be employed and have an income greater than £7,500 per year

1. Do you need to have a PayPal account?

Yes; after selecting to pay via PayPal Credit, on our checkout page, you will be redirected to the PayPal website. PayPal requires you to login to an existing account, or sign up for a new account, before being eligible for PayPal Credit.

2. What do I do if I am unsuccessful in applying for PayPal Credit?

Unfortunately, we have no control over the success or decline of an application – your credit eligibility is at PayPal’s discretion. If you are declined, PayPal will inform you of the reasons why your application was unsuccessful.

Don’t worry, although you weren’t approved for PayPal Credit, you can still use PayPal to check out securely with your bank account, debit or credit card.

3. Can I use PayPal Credit if I am a trade customer?

Unfortunately not, the PayPal Credit offering is only available to non-trade customers.

4. Can I make a phone order and apply for PayPal Credit?

PayPal Credit is only available on sales via our website. Unfortunately, we are unable to take payment via PayPal Credit for orders placed on the phone.

5. What happens if I want to return the item I bought using my PayPal Credit?

Orders placed using PayPal Credit can be returned as normal. Please see our returns policy for further details.

All refunds will be made via your PayPal Credit account. Once returned to your PayPal Credit account, the credit will be available to you as part of your limit for all your future PayPal Credit purchases, including future installment offers with us.
